Interests

Nanette Milne (Oldest Committee Member)

I welcome everyone to the first meeting of the William Simpson’s Home (Transfer of Property etc) (Scotland) Bill Committee. I do not think that I need to remind the select company present to switch off their mobile phones and pagers.

The first item is declaration of interests, so in accordance with section 3 of the code of conduct for members of the Scottish Parliament I ask members to declare any interests that are relevant to the committee’s remit. I will start by saying that I have no relevant interests to declare.

Shirley-Anne Somerville (Lothians) (SNP)

I have no relevant interests to declare.

Nanette Milne

I also invite members to declare their impartiality under rule 9A.5.4A of the standing orders. I will do that myself by declaring that, in my capacity as a member of the committee, I will act impartially and base my decisions solely on the evidence and information that is provided to the committee. I ask members to do likewise.

David Stewart

I also agree with that statement.

David Stewart (Highlands and Islands) (Lab)

I have no relevant interests to declare.

Shirley-Anne Somerville

I agree with that statement.
